These 3 ayah from Surah Al-Isra forced me to rethink my entire strategy.
Career. Business. Life.
I couldn’t keep this to myself.
Read this slowly 👇
“Man prays for evil in the manner he ought to pray for good.
Man is ever hasty.”
(Al-Isra 17:11)
This ayah exposed something uncomfortable in me.
How many times do we rush?
How many times do we ask Allah for things without thinking about the consequences?
We want results — now.
“If anyone desires immediate benefits,
We hasten to grant whatever We will in this world…
but thereafter We decree for him Hell.”
(Al-Isra 17:18)
This one hit harder.
Not because Allah doesn’t give dunya.
But because chasing only the immediate can cost everything later.
It made me ask myself:
• What am I optimising for?
• Speed or meaning?
• Results or reward?
Then Allah gives balance.
“But whoever desires the Hereafter and strives for it accordingly,
and is a true believer —
their striving will be appreciated.”
(Al-Isra 17:19)
This ayah changed my strategy.
Not don’t work.
Not don’t earn.
But decide what you’re striving for first.
Because effort is never wasted —
only the intention defines where it lands.
This is my takeaway:
I can work hard.
I can plan strategies.
I can grow professionally.
But if my direction is wrong,
speed only takes me further away.
So now I ask myself one question before every move:
👉 Is this only for now… or also for the Hereafter?
